Goals and Ideas

I want to design a school that promotes global citizenry by utilizing different programs that promote critical thinking, mindfulness, self, global, and environmental awareness, and conflict resolution.

I'm majoring in Peace & Conflict Studies with a concentration in Peace Education.
This Spring, I took these courses:
Introduction to Social and Cultural Analysis
Peace Theory
Meditation
French II

This summer, I will be taking these courses:
Experiencing Education: Race and Ethnicity Inside Schools
Current Issues in Education
Intensive Training in Conflict Resolution

Next year, I will be working on my senior thesis in the area of Peace Education. I am still working on the question I want to research. I have checked out several books on the philosophy and history of this field from the library.

After I graduate:
Over the summer, I think it would be interesting to join the Metta Mentors program in Berkeley:

For the next two years, I want to join Teach for America, get my teaching certificate, and possibly a masters degree in education: http://www.teachforamerica.org/

Afterwards, I want to apply to work with Building Excellent Schools:

When I have compiled enough research and figured out the basic framework for a school model then I want to apply for the BES fellowship.
